“… and it’s always been a thing with me to feel that all men know the truth, see? … The truth itself doesn’t have a name on it. To me. Each man has to find this for himself, I think. I believe that men are here to grow themselves into the best good that they can be… I’m not interested in trying to say what it will be, I don’t know. But I believe that good will only bring good.”

Spiritual, but not religious

n

I found this piece of writing, but not journalism from the BBC (brought to my attention by my teacher) to be quite amusing:

“Research has suggested “spiritual” people may suffer worse mental health than conventionally religious, agnostic or atheist people. “

What if this spirituality-seeking is an indication that humanity is awakening (or at least trying to)?

What if this is an indication that we have diassociated ourselves from something, experiencing a disconnection and inevitably looking to reconnect?

What if this “mental health” issue is a side-effect of an illussion of our modern lives fading? As if we were kids who just learned that Santa aint real, except we aren’t kids, we’re adults who invested in an entire life, with kids, only to discover that it aint just Santa that aint real …

What if we have been “mentally ill” for a long time but are just now realizing it? That’s a good (though not pleasant) thing isn’t it?

Drinking may be fun, but sobering up … that’s bound to be unpleasant! We’ve had a great ride this past century (or two) … and now comes the sobering up …
