Reading Lila PDF

n

I thought I was finished with Reading Lila – but it resurfaced in my consciousness. This time around the content became associated with my images. So after a week of random & associative browsing through my image archives I have put together a PDF version of the excerpt with a more personal touch and a more pleasant finish.

As I was working on this PDF, I visited my photography website StillCreation. I wasn’t happy with it at all and so decided to bring it down. I created StillCreation with the intent of sharing some of the inspiration I was experiencing at the time. My experiences took place in unique and intimate settings. I was hoping that my images would extend the reach of those experiences and that the inspiration would travel further. I feel I failed at doing that. If I one day encounter new inspiration and actionable ideas how to do this better – I may try again. For now I prefer silence.

This is great. "Zen and the Art…" was one of the most influential books of my post-college days, but I've never read Lila. Now I'll start with your pdf.

Now that you have this great new illustrated pdf, I suggest you put the images into the html version as well to make them consistent. The pdf introduction still contains language that says the html version is better, so I clicked back over there, then was confused that I wasn't seeing any images.

I wondered what all those Tweets were.

I'm happy you found this and took it in. I do hope that this game I've played brings Lila closer to a few more people. Robert Pirsig has been an amazing inspiration in making sense and being at peace with the world I perceive.

The PDF took the better part of a week to create – so I don't really have the bandwidth right now to continue embedding the images into the html version. I am also not convinced that it will improve the html reading experience … but I thank you for making the wish and I will let it resonate in me some more 🙂

I'd love to hear more about your Lila experience as you work your way into it 🙂

It took some time and worked it's way into an updated website design – now Lila is available online with the images. I invite you to have a look: http://www.iamronen.com/category/lila/reading-lil

I, too, have read “Lila…” three times (so far). If I were limited to recommending Only One Book it would be this one. Thank you so much for compiling this beautifully illustrated, condensed version. Now you’ve made it even easier for me to share. Thanks, again!

I was looking to buy a copy of Lila for a friend in line when i found your site…. what a wonderful job you have done … thank you … magnificent images and the extracts are great…. I found it has always been very hard to find that little bit sized bit of Prisig to quote …. you some how mastered it. I read Lila … back to back 3 times first time around … and then put it from the book shelf when in need. Thank you Mike
