“… my whole being revolted at the ide of becoming a homeless ascetic, depending on the labour of others for my sustenance. If God is the embodiment of all that is good, noble and pure, I argued withing myself, how can He decree that those who have a burning desire to find Him, surrendering themselves to His will, should leave their families, to whom they owe various obligations by virtue of the ties He has Himself forged in the human heart, and should wander from place to place depending on the charity and beneficence of those who honor those ties?”

Bolivia

Every once in a while, and in what seems to be increasing frequency, I read about interesting things happening in Bolivia. It seems to be standing up and reject predatory moves from the USA and the international corporate community. It feels like government there is, beware crazy stuff ahead, taking action to better the lives of its citizens.

This recent article speaks of how it is resisting Bilateral Investment Treaties (which are wreaking havoc on many developing countries and communities) and finding that despite their withdrawal from such agreements, foreign investment keep pouring into the country.

Something good seems to be happening in Bolivia (and a few other South American countries?)
